We recognize that food insecurity is significant among seniors and those living with disabilities. Our meal plan program is a short-term resource to help fill in the gap people experience while they are on waitlists for programs such as Meals on Wheels, are not yet age-eligible for this program, or are working to access other community resources.
This program is available to people living in Pinellas, Manatee, Pasco and Hillsborough counties. You must also be 55 and older and living with a disability or be 65 years or older to be approved for the program. Once you sign up for the program, we will contact you to confirm your eligibility and place you on the delivery schedule.
What You Receive
Every two weeks, we deliver 14 frozen meals to your home, usually on a Saturday or Sunday. Each meal includes a protein and starch and a vegetable. To reheat the meals you can either use your oven or remove the food from the tin, place it in a microwave-safe dish, and microwave it for 3 minutes. Proteins may include chicken, Salisbury steak, and spaghetti and meatballs, and more. Starches may be a baked potato, rice or pasta.
To help us cover the cost of this service we request the following donations to be paid at the time of the delivery:
- $1.00 per meal for the first 14 meals.
- $2.00 per meal if you continue to utilize the program.
- $3.00 for those we need more food and have more than $1,500 of monthly income.
Please tell us if you cannot afford these donation amounts, please let us know so we can support you within your limits.
